The Sankofa Reproductive Health and Healing Center offers full spectrum doula and reproductive health care. All services are offered in a collective, community-led model of healing, justice and love.

At Sankofa we understand what it means to give birth and parent in places that can not hold the full experience of this sacred time. Black families, African refugees and Indigenous people in our city continue to birth and raise children in the harshest inequality in our country. We recognize and honor the innate power of birthing people. We also recognize that not everyone with the ability to have children will take  steps toward parenthood. It is our human right to bodily autonomy,  informed decision making, and self determined,  reproductive wellness.

We offer non-judgemental care where Black birthing people  are able to actualize   liberation through communal parenting spaces, sexual & reproductive wellness, education, and ancestral practices of intuitive care work.

At Sankofa you are loved, cared for and listened to by our own.

  • The Sankofa Reproductive Health & Healing Center and the Sankofa Doula Collective work to ensure community-based doula care and community midwives are amplified in policy and legislation for reproductive health care reform. We are dedicated to building a community-based perinatal workforce that centers the solutions and ancestral traditions of our community. Centering families and birth workers with the greatest risk to reproductive injustice will ensure better outcomes for all.
